#NIUandExciting Food Adventure

NIU is the sixth establishment of Vikings Group since its arrival in the Philippines way back 2011. It is located at the 6th floor of SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City Taguig. It is called NIU (means nine in the Vikings language) because it holds nine different stations of appetizing dishes and meals to feast on.

We arrived the place at around 12 noon for the buffet lunch, the place is more than half-filled of visitors already. With me is my husband and my kid who is 1.5 year old. We were welcomed warmly with the staff, with big smiles on their faces. After checking our reservation, a very friendly woman in late 40's, maybe, escorted us to our table.

Meet my date - the two "Alberts" of my life, yes both of them had the best lunch ever, even Little Albert enjoyed the food and his favorites were the pizzas, the siomai, the cakes and the fruit juices. Big Albert, being a meativore, enjoyed the seafood, the lamb and the beef dishes, and of course he surely loved the unlimited wine.

I started my new and exciting dining experience on their first station, which are mostly appetizers. I found these - Black Seafood rice and vegetable stacked & pulled grass fed Lamb leg in Lindor Port Wine Sauce - one of their Valentine specialties. I got so excited with the black rice because I am a seafood addict. The Lamb Leg is something you wouldn't forget, how I wished they would include this among the regular dishes they serve.

...and this truffle chicken with pumpkin puree and foie grass - chicken is so tender and tasty, puree is so flavorful!

I filled my plate with the black seafood rice, truffle chicken, lamb leg, some baked potatoes, small slices of asado pizza, stromboli and siomai with the guava lemonade for my drink. The guava lemonade caught my attention for its color but that's not all, it is very good, tastes like fresh pink guavas, it took me back to my childhood days when I was picking ripe guavas in our backyard...

All of their juices are actually must-try, like the papaya carrot. You will definitely enjoy the unlimited drinks!

When I go back to our table, they served PORK BELLY in LINDOR dark chocolate bbq glaze which is also among their special menu for Valentine's Day and the coated shrimp with special sauce (that I forgot to ask the name of the dish for I was really excited to eat already). They served these to me because our
#AVerySweetLoveAffair date is hosted by a blogger. Thanks, Ruthilicious! The pork belly melts in the mouth and the sauce is really indescribable. One thing for sure you'll fall in love with it...

I enjoyed this coated shrimp, too, the sauce made the shrimp more delicious...

Whenever I visit buffet restaurants, I never forget to visit the Japanese section. I just love maki so much and NIU has a lot to offer! The Teriyaki Maki is one of my new discoveries...

The freshly baked oysters completed my NIU Vikings experience. Only few buffet restaurants offer this, so I grab the opportunity to feast on it, glad I did not suffer gastrointestinal problem afterwards...

What I got for the desert? My all-time favorite halo-halo and some slices of cakes. They have a very nice presentation of their limited edition cakes for Valentine. You will really crave for more.

My favorite among the delectable cakes - Love Triangle. It is a small piece of cake with 3 layers - the LINDOR ganache, the hazelnut buttercream and the coffee diplomat cake. It's really a temptation. A piece or two will not satisfy you...

I never really got to try everything because I was sooo full and already satisfied. Here are some more of the stations:

Indulge with your favorite ice cream! They are colorful and yummy! I guess the must-try here are the pistachio and the sesame ice cream...

And oh, unlimited wines and draft beer, drown yourself...

Before I end my #NIUandExciting food and dining experience, let me tour you inside...

Yes, I may have missed my favorite Filipino foods, like crispy pata, kare-kare and sisig to name a few, at NIU, because they serve only very few of it but the unique dishes and the very good services they gave us is A+. Every dish really made us drool. NIU Vikings let us experience one-of-a-kind dining...

How about you, what is your best dining experience so far?
