SM City San Lazaro supports Fun Play through #LetsPlayNowAtSM Event

Play is essential for kids; it can be an important source of relaxation and stimulation. Play is a sure fun way to fuel the imagination, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and emotional well-being.

Playtime lets the kid forget about work and commitments, and to be social in an unstructured, creative way. But play should not just be a "play," it should be a "fun play" where kids focus on the actual experience, not on accomplishing any goal. There doesn’t need to be any point to the activity beyond having fun and enjoying themselves. Play could be simply goofing off with friends, throwing a Frisbee on the beach, dressing up with other kids, playing fetch with a dog, a game of charades at a party, or going for a bike ride with someone with no destination in mind. Fun play definitely can foster learning and development in children and kids can reap oodles of health benefits throughout life from it.

SM believes that every child deserves a fun play this summer. So to delight kiddie shoppers with a summer to remember, SM Supermalls invited kids of all ages to the #LetsPlayNowAtSM grand summer kick off last April 7. The event transformed SM City San Lazaro's event center into an exciting wonderland filled with real-play, entertainment, and fun technology that can help them learn and make friends.

Kids' imagination ran wild at the arts and crafts and coloring booth. They also discovered their inner superstar at the modeling and singing booth. Kids also explored virtual reality with digital and interactive games and even harnessed their fitness skills and team play through basketball and indoor archery. There were also interactive playgrounds, such as the foam pit, ball pit, and a giant maze, fit for their untiring energy.

At the grand kick-off which was co-hosted by Sam Shoaf, a talented finalist of "Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids," the kids' favorite characters were also present to play with the kids which included Ronald McDonalds, Pinypon and Storyland's Lionel and Ellie, among many others. Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider came to life to sing, dance and entertain the kids and the kids-at-heart.

Some of the country's top kiddies stars such as Nhikzy Calma, Esang de Torres, Lei Andre Navarro, Yesha Camille, Onyok Pineda, and Jana Agoncillo also joined the fun with special performances.

The event which ended with the showering of colorful balloons with prizes inside was brought to us by Toy Kingdom, Baby Company, Cyberzone, The SM Store, SM Shopmag, SM Accessories, SM Markets, SM Kids, and SM Storyland.
