Better commission rates for TravelBook.ph Affiliates

Affiliates now have greater chances at earning more!

As part of TravelBook.ph’s plan to increase the number of affiliate partners and to provide them with better deals, the company has launched a new commission structure for its Affiliate Program that makes it easier for them to earn more.

For starters, with the new set of commission rates, affiliate partners only need to have more than five (5) completed transactions to increase their earnings from 40 to 45%. This is a huge improvement from the old structure, where affiliates need to have at least 50 completed transactions to get the 45% commission rate.

Getting the highest rate of 65% is also way easier with the new commission structure—from the requirement of 1,000 or more completed transactions, it is now down to just 51. The requirements of the other commission rates have also been greatly lessened.


This new commission structure from TravelBook.ph also offers better rates compared to other affiliate programs. Some hotel booking websites offer a minimum of just 25 to 35% commission rates (compared to 40% from TravelBook.ph) and a maximum of just 40 to 60% (compared to 65% from TravelBook.ph). In addition, the requirements are more difficult to achieve: affiliates need to have 500 to more than 1,000 completed transactions to reach the highest commission rate (compared to just 51 from TravelBook.ph).

A festive, colorful facade will welcome guests as they enter the exhibition, which sets the tone for the sights and sounds they are about to experience. These interactive exhibits are displayed simultaneously in three adjacent Rings. Guests can go in any of the Rings in the order they please.

Ring One, or Deception Perception is a menagerie of exhibits that will prompt you to question whether to see is to believe. Can you always trust your senses? Is what you see as real as it seems? Can your brain produce motion where there is none? Your first venture into the Circus will unveil the “blindness” of your mind’s eye.

Ring Two highlights Pieces of Incredible Engineering, where guests can engage their minds in puzzles and relish how math and art come together. This central area is animated by simple machines, and engages guests in activities that evoke their inner engineer.

Last but not least, Ring Three is Encounters with the Masters, where guests can interact with and learn the secrets of the Masters of Illusion. They can take on the challenges posed by each Master, and discover how our brains can be ensnared by smoke and mirrors.

Ozamiz City launches ALSA OZAMIZ, a crusade against illegal activities in the city

From the ashes of its dirt-laden image, Ozamiz City is rising loud and proud with its latest crusade to crush bad elements in its territory.

On Wednesday (January 18), an estimated 30,000 Ozamiznons marched to a public venue beside the town’ historic structure famously known as Cotta. There was a public outcry to cleanse the city and eliminate once and for all the filthy stigma that has been since associated to Ozamiz City.


On that evening, the city government has declared Alsa Ozamiz, a local movement to rally all Ozamiznons to shrug off all bad elements that has been corrupting and ravaging the once stellar status of the city.

As described by the incumbent Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” Parojinog, Sr., Alsa Ozamiz bears the same ideals just like his grandfather’s first and original Alsa Ozamiz movement back in the 50s to fight government insurgencies… except that this time, the fight is not against rebels, but to a more profound cause — that is to fight all negative elements in the Ozamiznon society, from illegal gambling down to illegal fishing and the like, with illegal drugs on top of the list.



OZAMIZ CITY HALL CRIES FOUL AGAINST ALL THE DRUGS ALLEGATIONS
In a press conference held prior to the evening’s Alza Ozamiz event, the city’s father-daughter tandem composed of Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr. and Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog vented out their sentiments about the latest accusations to them.

Vice Mayor Parojinog cries foul on their critics’ claim that the city’s drugs situation is “rampant”. Vice Mayor Nova Princess said all these allegations are really unfair for all the drugs initiatives that they have implemented in the city long before DU30 came in to power.

“Dito sa Ozamiz City nuon pa man matagal na kaming nakipag-gyera sa ilegal na droga,” said Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr.

Mayor Parojinog, Sr. noted that they’ve been having this extensive fight against drugs however sadly, all these initiatives all went down the drain for nothing because apparently, their accomplishments just went under the radar of the then police chiefs for some unknown reasons.
On the press meeting, the Parojinogs presented a really thick book of the anti-drugs operations report that has been taking place since 2013, long before President Duterte’s massive national anti-drug campaign.

Vice Mayor Parojinog noted that the book contains all the reports on the drug raids, drugs suspects arrests and illegal drugs confiscations undertaken by the city hall with the PNP since 2013.
“Nuong kasagsagan ng campaign ko against drugs, madaming nagalit sa akin… kahit mga kamag anak ko,” added Mayor Aldong.
At one point the Mayor was teary-eyed as he said, “Taga-rito kami sa Ozamiz tapos sisirain namin ang lugar namin?”.

 Just recently, Mayor Parojinog, Sr. had a meeting with President Duterte who also met other city and town mayors in Malacanang Palace last January 11.
 Parojinog, Sr. described his meeting with Duterte in Manila as cordial, with the Chief Executive saying that the earlier pronouncement of Parojinog’s involvement in drugs was based on report from regional intelligence units.
“Mas lalo kaming maninindigan sa aming laban sa droga bilang suporta sa Pangulong Duterte na handang itaya ang buhay para sa bayan,” stated Mayor Aldong in front of the media team.


ON ALSA OZAMIZ BASHERS
Of course, being included on DU30’s narco-politician list (from which Mayor Aldong’s case is currently under revalidation) and having this aggressive campaign called “Alsa Ozamiz”, Mayor Aldong Parojinog’s detractors would definitely raise their eyebrows with the coincidence.
Additionally, there were social media buzz that Alsa Ozamiz is the Parojinog’s strategy to sack the newly-assigned city police chief Espinido.

However, the courageous mayor gleefully revealed that Alsa Ozamiz is actually a joint effort of the PNP and the city hall. In fact, during the Alsa Ozamiz gathering that night at the Cotta, although not present, the new city police chief had a long VTR message for all Ozamiznons that affirms his support on this anti-drugs initiatives by Mayor Aldong and VM Nova Princess (and the rest of the Ozamiz City Hall).

Later that Wednesday evening Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr. led the formal launch of the ‘Alsa Ozamiz’ anti-crime program. ICMY, the Alsa Ozamiz program is an extensive program of the Ozamiz city hall that pushes civilian-barangay partnerships with government and non-government agencies to prevent “all that is illegal” in the city i.e. illegal drugs, gambling, fishing, logging, etc…
With illegal drugs on top of their list, the leading city officials stated that they have standby programs to support this city anti-drugs campaign. This includes the proposed private partnership with rehabs as part of the follow-up initiatives for “tokhang responders” and also the potent “reward system” when it comes to intelligence gathering, among others.

VIDEOKARERA MACHINES DESTROYED…


On the eve of the Alsa Ozamiz declaration and right after the press briefing, some 560 videokarera machines that were voluntarily surrendered to brgy captains were crushed altogether by a payloader right in front of the city hall grounds. These videokarera and fruitgame machines are allegedly being used habitually by drug addicts as a fond pastime most notably when they are high on drugs.

SUN Life Asia Health Index report and new wellness product campaign


Last August, 2016, Sun Life Financial Asia studied the health trends in Asia through an Ipsos survey from around 4000 Asian respondents aged 25 to 60 and with middle class incomes. They came from Mainland China, Hong Kong, India,  Indonesia,  Malaysia,  the Philippines,  Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam and were interviewed online about their attitudes towards healthy and active living, their health concerns for the future and expectations on access to healthcare.

Last year's SUN Life Financial Asia Health Index reports revealed that from the respondents in the Philippines, who are from Manila, Cebu and Davao, 50% male & 50% female; 61% is not engaging in any regular activity and that made the Philippines on top of the list from Asia.

The study proved that "Generation O" still exists. This is the population that is composed of individuals who are struggling with their health goals, who are usually overworked,  overweight and overwhelmed individuals.

With today's busy lifestyle, Filipinos tend to forget their health goals. But what really are the barriers to a healthy living according to the respondents? 57% of Filipinos blamed it on their lack of time due to work, 47% admitted that they lack personal motivation, also 47% said it's "distraction of modern life" that stops them from engaging in physical activities. Other key barriers named were cost (45%) and the lack of accessible venues for sports and recreation (36%).

While the Asia Health Index showed negative results about Filipinos' lifestyle nowadays, it also showed how positive Filipinos are towards their health. The Philippines scored the highest in the recently conducted study, garnering a score of 89%. Respondents from the Philippines were the most positive in Asia when it comes to emotional health and physical health.

"With all the things that demand our time and attention, it's usually our health that suffers because it's relegated to the least of our priorities. However, this should not be the case," Sun Life President and CEO Riza Mantaring said.

Aster Clinic in the Philippines now ISO 9001:2015 Certified

Aster Clinic, the first outpatient clinic in the Philippines; marks a milestone being an ISO 9001:2015 certified from the reputable German company TUV Rheinland. This was coincidentally awarded at the turn of 30th global anniversary of its parent company, Aster DM Healthcare LLC based in UAE.

The ISO 9001:2015 is the most difficult certification process so far and TUV Rheinland is one of the most reputable certification firms that awards such. Filipino Bloggers Network Get-Together 2016: Looking Forward to Another Year of Productive Partnerships

Bloggers, social media influencers and the likes took a break from their usual daily tasks and responsibilities to give way to a night of great fun, awesome giveaways, delicious food and meeting new friends at the 2016 Christmas party of the Filipino Bloggers Network (FBN), one of the most active bloggers group in the country, in cooperation with MetroBuzz Bloggers held at St. Nicholas Catering and Restaurant in Mandaluyong City last December 28, 2016. 

Blogger members took the opportunity to make new friends and catch up with old friends they have not seen for a while. Representatives of different PR groups and brands also graced their event and personally thank bloggers, online writers and influencers who have supported them in the past years.

Boodle Fight sa Bilao at St. Nicholas Catering and Restaurant

We Filipinos love to eat with bare hands, it gives us the feeling of being at-home and it adds more excitement and flavor to the food we eat. This is why boodle fight or boodle feast is now a popular culinary experience in the Philippines and is starting to be a big hit in restaurants.

Do you know that somewhere in Mandaluyong hides a great place to grab and eat as much as you can with your bare hands? The place is called St. Nicholas Catering and Restaurant.

The entrance of the restaurant is so simple. At first you would think it's a garden because you will be welcomed by plants in plots and tall bamboo trees. I love the entrance because the lush green gives a relaxing mood to the visitors and it somehow gives you a feeling of being secluded from the pollution in the metro.


While the entrance looks so simple, the interior is surprising, there are a lot of colorful stuff and nice table settings. Feels like you are in a barrio fiesta where there are a lot of colorful banderitas that sways when the wind blows.


It was Christmas season when we visited the place that is why the main attraction in the place was this spacious stage decorated with inflatable Santa Claus and the big teddy bear which was according to the owner, imported all the way from the US. The stage aside from the Christmas decorations, is also filled with a collection of antique jars and some paintings, statues of Catholic Saints and the owner's collections of the stuff they use when catering for birthdays, weddings, etc.


According to the Chef-owner, Nick Pelaez, the place was really an ancestral house which was converted to a dining place, that is why visitors will see a lot of family memories all around especially of Nick's mother.



So what we had for lunch? This is one of their best-sellers, Boodle Fight sa Bilao 1: Davao. This bilao contains hot n juicy shrimp, calamares, shrimp tempura, lechong kawali, eggplant tempura,
rice, salted egg, tomatoes and onions. This costs Php999 and is good for 3 -5 persons. All the seafoods were fresh, the tempura is really crunchy, lechong kawali is tender, everything is flavorful. My personal favorite is the shrimp because they are really sweet and juicy, because St. Nicholas directly sourced them from the country's seafood capital; Roxas City, Capiz. The shrimps are delivered to the restaurant a few times a week to make sure its quality is never compromised.


We also had an order of Hot n' Juicy Shrimp which costs Php399.00 for half a kilo. It's really spicy but tastes heavenly good!


We also had desserts, but because we were too busy enjoying the shrimps, we almost forgot that the desserts were served with ice cream. Since the place is not fully air-conditioned, the ice cream melted but it even made the cakes taste better, hehe. The creamy ice cream mixed with the bitter-sweet taste of the cakes and the result is better-tasting desserts!



The owner of St. Nicholas Catering and Restaurant is not really a graduate of culinary but his passion for food reflects in every dish they serve. The restaurant does not only serve good food of reasonable prices which every customer from all walks of life can feast on, but it also tells a loving memory of a family which we all can relate with...
