Casting Call for GTG's Film, Sensitive and In Love

GlobalTouch Group (GTG), an production company based in Los Angeles announced that it will be filming dramatic narrative scenes of its upcoming feature documentary Sensitive and In Love in Metro Manila, Philippines in 2017.

GTG is seeking males and females of all ethnicities and ages for the scripted speaking parts in the film. Good command of English language required.

“We are very excited to tap into the pool of extraordinary talent in the Philippines”, says Sensitive and In Love Emmy award-winning director Will Harper, who has previously directed shows for Oprah, Clint Eastwood, Lenny Kravitz, major Hollywood networks and is currently the executive producer for strategic media for Philippines’ DENR, series director at ABS-CBN and associate dean at ABS-CBN University in Manila.

Sensitive and In Love is a sequel to Sensitive-The Untold Story featuring 7-time Grammy winning singer-songwriter-activist Alanis Morissette and based on the findings of bestselling author-psychologist Dr. Elaine Aron (The Highly Sensitive Person). In 1991 Dr. Aron made a breakthrough discovery that 20% of the population, both male and female, are highly sensitive. This trait reflects a certain type of survival strategy: being observant before acting. Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs) think deeply, get easily overwhelmed by intense, complex or novel things, are more attentive to subtleties and have more empathy, so they cry easily. DENR’s Gina Lopez, a self-confessed HSP, organized a high profile VIP screening of the film in the Philippines in 2016.

Sensitive and In Love is the long-awaited groundbreaking feature documentary based on the research of Dr. Elaine Aron and also her husband Dr. Art Aron – the leading researcher of love and relationships who gave the world the 36 Questions that lead to love that went viral.

The filming will take place in Metro Manila, Philippines. The time and place will be announced in May 2017.

Interested talent should email a headshot, resume, and a digital showreel, if available, to info@sensitivethemovie.com

Sensitive-The Untold Story can be viewed at http://sensitive-theuntoldstory.vhx.tv

Sensitive and In Love will be released throughout prestigious film festival circuit worldwide.

Guitar picks manufactured by Dunlop

Guitar pick, a plectrum used to strum guitars are usually made of one uniform material - either of plastic, rubber, felt, wood, metal, glass or stone. They are often shaped in an acute isosceles triangle.

The sound produced by the guitar also depends on the quality, shape, material and thickness of the pick used. Normally, heavier picks produces a darker sound than the lighter ones, but the shape of the tip has the most influence on the quality of the sound. Pointed tips produces brighter and more focused sound than a rounded tip.

Dunlop, one of the most trusted manufacturers of musical accessories such as guitar picks, offer a wide variety of picks according to gauges, sizes, shapes and materials.

If you want to see the more choices for Dunlop picks check it out at GuitarCenter. They have over a hundred of types to choose from, some with great discounts and offer.

How Belo SunExpert After Sun Gel saved my day?

What's a great summer adventure without the sun, the sand and of course the SUNBURN?

Everyone's hittin' the beach this summer and so did we. It was a long drive from the metro to my hometown but the journey was never boring despite the scorching heat because I was worry-free for I have my favorite sunscreen with me. Along the way, I chose to turn off the aircon and busied myself watching the greens and the nature around. I was excited because I was about to see my old friends and classmates whom I haven't seen for almost 20 years. My heart was pounding with a lot of expectations as we were nearing my beloved hometown where all the most precious memories of my youth were created.

We hit the beach for our reunion. We rode the waves, we played the sands and we danced under the sun. The pristine blue water was inviting so we stayed on the beach from sun up to sun down. There was never a dull moment with my family and friends, I just chose to enjoy and be happy the whole day long, with the thought I was protected with my sunscreen.

I never expected that problems will get in the way after a day of fun under the sun - skin problems: inflammation and sunburn. Good thing I brought my Belo SunExpert After Sun Gel (courtesy of Sample Room) with me. I immediately applied ample amount on my face and on the parts that were affected. I instantly felt the soothing effect of Belo After Sun Gel on my skin. After some hours, my skin started to soften and the blemishes were almost gone. Because of Belo SunExpert After Sun Gel, my summer vacation 2017 is really an amazing one.

For my next summer adventure, I will never settle for anything less. I will make sure I have the whole line of Belo SunExpert products with me so my skin will always be protected anytime, anywhere. I ditched my old favorite sunscreen and I switched to Belo SunExpert because I am now convinced only Belo knows the best way to protect the skin and save my day!

Ingenious recipe using Unipak Mackerel + GIVEAWAY + winners

It has been a tradition for most of the Catholics to observe fasting on Lenten season. Fasting or abstinence starts from Ash Wednesday and lasts until Good Friday as observed. Catholics do it by not eating too much or eating meatless meals.

This Holy Week, you need not deprive yourself of something delicious. With Unipak, you can have a meatless meal that is still palatable, healthy and pocket-friendly.

Let me share with you one of my favorite dishes during Lent, using the Unipak Mackerel I called "Miswa Pak-tola."

Here's what you'll need:

1 whole Patola
1 can 425 grams Unipak Mackerel in Natural Oil
100 grams miswa
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 pc tomato
garlic
onion
ginger
black pepper
salt or fish sauce
Malunggay leaves (optional)
boiled egg (garnish)

1. Wash and peel patola. Cut into desired thickness, set aside.
2. Slice garlic, onion, tomato and ginger as desired.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Saute garlic, onion, tomato, and ginger for about 2 to 5 minutes, then add fish sauce.
4. Add the sliced patola, black pepper and Unipak Mackerel, stir. Simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Add the miswa, stir. Add water if the sauce is too thick. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
6. Finally, add the Malunggay leaves. Turn off heat keeping the pan covered until malunggay leaves are cooked.

Why Unipak?

Mackerel fish is low in contaminants because they feed low on the food chain, which means they are low in mercury and other environmental contaminants like polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) and dioxins. As an oily fish, mackerel is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids which is essential in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Not all Mackerel brands are the same, hindi basta nakasanayan, the best na yan. Unipak Mackerel is made of high-quality fish so you can be sure it is healthy and beneficial to your health, kaya basta Mackerel, dapat tatak Unipak!

Aside from the easy yet healthy recipe, I am also sharing a Unipak gift pack to one of my readers. Just follow the simple mechanics below:

1. Like Passions of a SAHM and Unipak Mackerel on FB.

National Book Store celebrates 75th year with the Read Out Loud For A Better Future campaign

Each individual is being affected by books in various unique ways. Words from every page of the book enchant us. When we get to hold books in our hands and flip through its pages, our minds are opened to new experiences. There are books that inform and educate people, from general facts about life to how to cook exotic dishes. There are also books that take you on exciting adventures, scare you through thrilling feats, and of course, books that make you feel all kinds of love – even the unimaginable. Nothing beats the feeling of finishing a book and adding it to your bookshelf, knowing that you’ve been changed by what you read. While there may be thousands of books published out there, some just stick with us and are worth sharing with the rest of the world.

Spreading the love for reading among Filipinos is at the core of National Book Store (NBS).  This year, the country’s favorite book store is celebrating 75 years of creating a growing nation of readers and being a strong advocate for education.

As part of the festivities, NBS recently launched the Read Out Loud Challenge (ROLC) on Facebook and Instagram, aiming to promote the love of reading among Filipinos while supporting a good cause.  The mechanics are simple. Post a video of yourself reading out loud an excerpt from your favorite book and challenge 3 other people to do it. When you upload to either Facebook or Instagram, add the hashtag #ReadOutLoudChallenge and tag National Book Store (@nbsalert).

For every 75 videos posted, the NBS Foundation will set up a library in a public school, complete with Project Aklat racks that consist of DepEd-approved books. Project Aklat is an initiative started back in 2006 by the NBS Foundation, and 400 libraries have been set up since then. Now, with the ongoing ROLC campaign, NBS aims to set up 100 libraries nationwide.

With such a worthy cause, it’s no surprise that celebrities and authors have taken on the ROLC.  Leading them is no less than the founder of NBS and an advocate for literacy, Mrs. Socorro Ramos or Nanay Coring, as she is fondly called.

While the ROLC will promote and support Project Aklat, the NBS Foundation will also launch the 8th year of Project Aral this April 7,2017 in all NBS branches nationwide. Project Aral aims to visit and help over 150 communities who lack basic school necessities. That’s why in this year’s Project Aral, there will be two different kits: The first kit which costs only 25 pesos contains 2 notebooks, 2 pencils, a sharpener, and an eraser. The second kit costs 50 pesos and  contains 2 notebooks, 2 pencils, a sharpener, an eraser, and a pair of slippers – a great gift for children who currently have to make their way to school barefoot. But whatever kit you purchase will surely bring a smile to many Filipino children.

These are just a few of the activities in store for Filipinos as part of National Book Store’s 75th anniversary. There will be more to come, but for now, celebrate with NBS by accepting the Read Out Loud Challenge to spread the love for reading and help set up libraries nationwide. Time to bring your favorite lines to life! Shop online at nationalbookstore.com. Visit the NBS Blog (blog.nationalbookstore.com) and follow them on social media (@nbsalert) on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
