As announced by the National Basketball Association, the Jr. NBA Philippines 2019 presented by Alaska returns for the 12th consecutive year and it continues to expand to provide youth in the region the opportunity to represent the Asia Pacific in the second Jr. NBA Global Championship, a youthful basketball tournament for the top 13- and 14-year-old boys and girls teams from around the world that will be held August 6 - 11 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla.
Jr NBA Philippines tipped off Manila on April 27-28 with a train-the-trainers clinic for teachers and coaches program, which aims to teach the fundamental skills and core values of the game at the grassroots level. The event once again included nationwide youth clinics, coaching workshops, and training camps.
New this year, the Jr. NBA Global Championship Asia Pacific Regional Competition will expand to include youth from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. As many as five boys and five girls from the Jr. NBA Philippines National Training Camp will be selected to participate in the first Jr. NBA Global Championship Asia Pacific Qualifiers, a week-long event in June that will feature top youth players from the region. The top-performing 10 boys and 10 girls will represent the Asia Pacific in the Jr. NBA Global Championship.
Regional selection camps will be staged in Lucena, Baguio, Metro Manila and a city in Visayas and Mindanao to select the top 40 boys and 40 girls that will advance to the National Training Camp in Metro Manila on May 17 - 19, which will feature an NBA and WNBA player or legend.

Man and Wife, a film by Laurice Guillen is the first movie team up for Jodi Sta. Maria and Gabby Concepcion.
The movie is a Mother's Day offering from Cineko Films and to be distributed by Cinescreen. It tells the story of Carding (Gabby) and Luisa (Jodi), a married couple torn between their love for each other and issues of their respective families.
Carding's family, led by his mother and Mayor of the town, Menang (Liza Lorena), permits abusive mining companies to operate in their place affecting the agricultural lands, including the one run by Luisa's sibling, Totoy (EA Guzman).
As the couple tries to stick together amid the rift between their families, they realize the process is more complicaated than they anticipated -- Carding comes in conflict with this mother, Luisa with Totoy and her other siblings. This makes them question their decision of building their own family.
How can a man pick sides between the woman he loves and the woman he first loved? Who will a man choose between his mother and the mother of his child?

A Jurassic summer awaits kids at SM Southmall's South Dino Park located at the Food Street Concourse starting April 23 until May 26.
The South Dino Park features Dinos in the Mall, an exhibit of 6 larger than life dinosaurs :
Spinosaurus - the only known dino to have dwelled in water. It has six-inch-long teeth and a sail on its back with spines the size of surfboards. Spinosaurus lived about a hundred million years.
Brachiosaurus - an unusual dinosaur that had lived 155.7 million to 150.8 million years ago during the mid- to late Jurassic Period. It has a long neck which made it look like a giraffe, and its forelegs were longer than its hind legs.
Stegosaurus - a large, plant-eating dinosaur that lived during the late Jurassic Period, primarily in western North America. It was about the size of a bus and carried around two rows of bony plates along its back that made it appear even bigger.
Velociraptor - a carnivore dino, formidable on land, weighing around 300 pounds. Known as "swift seizer" it was probably one of the more intelligent dinosaurs because it had a large brain proportionate to its body size.
Tyrannosaurus rex - more commonly known as T-rex, the King of Dinosaurs was one of the largest and most fearsome carnivores of all time. Despite being scary it is the most popular dino among kids and kids-at-heart.

The third Prime Mom Club workshop aimed to let moms hear about other moms’ experiences on how they make summer extra fun and educational for their children. The participants were treated to a cooking demo, trial workshops, and fun talks by Prime Mom Club’s panel of mom experts.

Directed by Eduardo Roy Jr. the movie revolves around Mayessa (Arci), an award-winning indie writer/director who is given a chance of a lifetime, to work with her dream production company.
As she gets tasked to make a romantic-comedy movie as her first project, unfortunately she has no idea how to do one. Hesitantly, she and her friends come up with a brilliant idea of turning her own love story with her ex-boyfriend paulo (JM) into a movie.
Now that she is forced to relive their memories, can she avoid the feelings that come with it?
Produced by ABS-CBN Films - Star Cinema, N2, and Emba, Last Fool Show marks Arci and JM's first project together, knowing they are very close friends since their college days in the University of the Philippines.
"I was 15 then, he was 16. That was around 2005," Arci shares. "It matters a lot to me that were ble to work with each other now, I feel very comfortable."
"That time, we work behind the scenes. We fix costumes, props, and all other stuff that are going t be used for the theter play," JM also shares.
It should be noted that Roy Jr. who also wrote the film was the director of the critically acclaimed Cinemalaya 2016 entry "Pamilyang Ordinaryo."
