Skincare Made for the Modern Filipina


The Wellness Innovators Corporation, in partnership with the Dermcare Group of Companies, will be launching an innovative skincare line this December.

The new skincare line is designed and manufactured in partnership with Japanese beauty experts. This new skincare line is developed especially for working Filipinas who encounter a lot of glow suckersin their daily lives and do not have the time for multi-step, time-consuming skincare regimens.

According to the company, glow suckers are elements in a Filipina’s life that cause damage to her skin. These elements range from harsh weather conditions, pollution, personal and professional stressors, and unhealthy habits.

SUN LIFE TIES UP WITH NUVALI FOR EXCITING OUTDOOR ATTRACTIONS FOR THE FAMILY

Sun Life Philippines and Nuvali have tied up to launch three exciting new attractions that would encourage families to enjoy some quality bonding time outdoors, including the Sun Life interactive mural, the Bright Circuit outdoor gym, and Nuvali teamLab Water show. 


In keeping with its mission of helping Filipinos live healthier lives, Sun Life recently launched an interactive mural and an outdoor gym in Nuvali’s Solenad complex to inspire people in their health and wellness journey while also offering a new venue for fitness activities.

The interactive mural was designed by illustrator and muralist Jappy Agoncillo, who has been making wavesnot just in Manila, but also in Los Angeles and New York City. His creation for Sun Life, which carries the company’s “Live Healthier Lives” battle cry, shows his signature dynamic and colorful art style. However, the experience of viewing the mural levels up with the help of a mobile phone, where one simply needs to go to http://bit.ly/SLmural. The link opens the phone’s camera which, when pointed at the mural, will make certain elements of the design come alive. One could record a video, save it, then share it on social media to affirm his commitment to his own health and wellness journey.

Meanwhile, the outdoor gym, called Bright Circuit, consists of eight different types of equipment. Kids will be encouraged to get active with the Dome Climber and Monkey Bar, while adults may use the Dipping Station and Monkey Bar to strengthen their upper bodies, the Pull-Up Station and Decline Sit-Up Station to tighten their cores, the Leg Raise Station to improve their hip flexors, and the Twister to work out their legs. Free for everyone to use, the outdoor gym comes with instructions that are easy to understand and follow.

Apart from offering these outdoor attractions, Sun Life’s health and wellness community, GoWell, will also hold free community workouts in Nuvali every two months. Those who would like to be a part of the workouts simply need to sign up at gowell.com.ph to get updates.




Sun Life also supports the launching of Nuvali teamLab Water, the first interactive watershow in the Philippines created by teamLab, an art collective whose works are found in different parts of the world, such as Australia, Japan, London, Singapore, the United States, and recently, the Philippines.



Nuvali teamLab Water will open on November 22, with three 30-minute shows every night at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm. While the show can be enjoyed on its own, viewers may opt to take out their phones for a fun and interactive experience.

It was in October 2018 when I have had my first pampering in Bioessence. It was the first time, too, that I met the owner and the important people working for Bioessence.

Moms make house a HOME, which is why almost every Mom loves DIY and home improvements. We love to turn our plain and ordinary house into a warm and comfortable place for the family.

But as Moms would want to beautify the house, they also make sure that what they buy for home improvement fits the budget. Good thing The Home Depot is a haven for Moms like me who is always on the lookout for savings, discounts, and deals that could give more value for the money.


Many times Home Depot saved me from spending too much with home fixtures, bathroom accessories, and other stuff I need for minor and major home renovations.

I remember one summertime when their bathroom accessories went on a buy one get one promo. It was perfect because we have two bathrooms in the house, but they are both plain. I was able to buy a mirror, stainless towel hanger, soap dish, toothbrush holder, etc; bathroom shelf and more. Since they were all on BOGO promo, I was able to repair and decorate both of our bathrooms. Now both bathrooms are a nice place to have a relaxing bath.

Valenzuela City's Paspas Permit is the Fastest Business Permit App System in the Country

Starting November 13, an integrated permit application system called the 3S Plus Valenzuela City Online Services will provide a single platform for the application of permits and request for documents. This is the first and the fastest of its kind in the country, which spares applicants from the cost and time required of personal applications at the city hall.

With the City’s commitment to be in full compliance to the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Law, the highlight of the system is the “Paspas Permit”, the 10-second business permit application system. It allows the issuance of a provisionary business permits within ten seconds after the payment confirmation. Prior to this project, the issuance of business permits at the City Hall takes about 15 to 30 minutes.

Present at the launch are: Department of Trade and industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez (center), Valenzuela City Mayor REX Gatchalian (to his right), Vice Mayor Lorena Natividad-Borja (to his left), and the City Council of Valenzuela.

The introduction of the ‘Paspas Permit’ system will accelerate Valenzuela’s adoption of digital technology to streamline services for more than 18,000 businesses in the city. According to Mayor REX Gatchalian, “the new platform demonstrates the local government’s commitment to make services more efficient and innovative, which in turn can attract more investors and spur further development. Entrepreneurs are indispensable to our country’s growth and so we are empowering them through improved systems of service delivery.”

“At this point, the adoption of digital technology has become essential to fostering growth. The launch of 3S Plus Valenzuela City Online Services shows how we are leveraging on the innovative use of new technologies for better, faster services to our constituents,” he added.

City of Valenzuela’s efforts uphold E-Governance have earned accolades from numerous reputable institutions. It is a Hall-of-Famer to the Most Business Friendly Highly Urbanized City award of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), a distinction that it held in 2012, 2014, 2015, and again, in 2019 after a mandatory three-year hiatus from the Search.

Using the 3S Plus Valenzuela City Online Services, permit applicants can apply for the following documents and services:

● Renewal or Application of New Business Permits

● Building and Construction Permit application

● Real Property Tax (RPT) payments

● Requests for Certified True Copy of Tax Declaration, Tax Mapping Certificate, Certificate of Non-Improvement and Appraisal of Real Property

● Requests for Certified True Copy of Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificate, and Court Decision


Actual business permit and documents can be delivered within three to five working days through Wide Wide World Express (formerly DHL Philippines) or Grab Express.

Payments, on the other hand, can be processed via Visa, Mastercard, debit cards, Bancnet or PayMaya. 

Documentary requirements submitted through the platform are reviewed realtime between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Mondays to Fridays. Those who were applied beyond office hours shall be processed promptly on the next morning. 

Provisionary Building and Construction permits shall also be obtained through the system within 10 second upon confirmation of payment. A provisionary permit shall be sent to the applicant’s email and they can commence construction. However, the applicant must submit the original documents to the Office of the Building Official (OBO) within 15 days, so they can get their actual permit. Failing to do so will revoke their provisionary permit.

“Simpler and faster processes reflect good governance and this is what we want to achieve through our 3S Plus Valenzuela City Online Services. This platform is a one-stop shop for permits and documents needed by residents, investors, and entrepreneurs who want to do business in our city,” Gatchalian concluded.
