Presented by the ACES Council, the award highlights organizations that demonstrate exemplary performance in sustainability, responsible leadership, and corporate citizenship. For Manulife, the recognition affirms the strength of its Impact Agenda, which serves as the foundation for its environmental stewardship and strategic integration of sustainable investing across the business. Through this agenda, the company has embedded sustainability into its core operations, enabling stronger health and well-being outcomes, enhancing financial resilience, and contributing to a healthier planet for communities across Asia.
“This award is not just a recognition of our achievements—it’s a testament to our purpose-driven leadership and the measurable impact we’re making across Asia,” said Harshal Shah, Chief Marketing Officer, Manulife Financial Asia. “We’re honored to be a part of the ACES Circle and to stand alongside other changemakers who are shaping a more vibrant and inclusive region.”
Now in its 12th year, the ACES Awards celebrate Asia’s most influential leaders and organizations that exemplify excellence in leadership, sustainability, and corporate growth. Winners undergo a comprehensive evaluation based on the ACES LEAD™ Framework, which assesses long-term strategy, ESG performance, ethical governance practices, and the depth of social impact. Manulife’s selection reflects its consistent and measurable progress in these areas.
A defining pillar of Manulife’s sustainability journey is its position as the world’s largest manager of natural capital, with more than CAD$22 billion in timberland and agriculture assets under management (AUM). These nature-based solutions help mitigate climate risk, protect biodiversity, and foster long-term environmental resilience. To date, Manulife has achieved a 27% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, reinforcing its drive toward decarbonization. The company has also planted over 1.4 billion trees, strengthening global reforestation efforts and supporting natural ecosystems.
Beyond environmental impact, Manulife continues to invest in community development and inclusive growth. Programs such as Peso Smart, a financial literacy initiative, and the MLK Scholars Program in North America have empowered thousands of youth with knowledge, skills, and opportunities for a brighter future. Internally, Manulife champions an inclusive culture for its global workforce of over 39,000 employees and 109,000 agents, fostering well-being, belonging, and professional growth.
Further advancing its sustainability vision, the company recently launched the Manulife Longevity Institute, a global platform committed to enabling people to live longer, healthier, and more financially secure lives by 2030. The institute focuses on research, partnerships, and actionable insights that address longevity challenges—an increasingly critical issue across Asia.
With its first ACES Award win, Manulife Financial Asia cements its position as a purpose-driven organization creating tangible, lasting change for people, communities, and the planet.
