Start the year Right with COLOR MANILA Run Year 5!

WELCOME 2017!!!

For sure, most of us include being fit or starting a healthy lifestyle in our New Year's resolution. COLOR MANILA RUN YEAR 5 - Manila's biggest event, is a great way to start the year right and to begin our journey into fitness and health.

COLOR MANILA, the country’s most aggressive ‘concept fun-run’ organizer gears up for its biggest and most colorful event to date - the COLOR MANILA RUN YEAR 5, to be held on January 8, 2017, at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Grounds.

The organizers, headed by Jay Em and Justine Cordero, expect around 12,000 runners who would be joining this much anticipated event.

According to COLOR MANILA’s President, Jay Em, “The annual COLOR MANILA RUN has always been designed to help the participants jump start their fitness goals for the year. We are lucky enough to have had participants who have been with us, and have supported us from the inception. Now on our 5th year, we intend to encourage more runners and non-runners alike, to join our various events held in different cities.”

Justine Cordero, VP of COLOR MANILA, says, “Since this is our 5th year, we have made COLOR MANILA RUN YEAR 5 very special by coming up with exciting race kits that our loyal participants and new registrants would love. Our Deluxe kit includes a dry fit shirt, sunglasses, race bib, finisher’s medal and a color packet. Then for the Rockstar package, there’s an additional headwear and drawstring bag. And of course, for the 21K runners, their race kit includes - singlet, sunglasses, drawstring bag, pillow, race bib, timing chip, the finisher's medal, finisher's shirt, GU Energy Gel and the color packet. Most of our participants have also enjoyed collecting our merchandise.”

Participants may also expect celebrities to join the event. Notable celebrities and athletes who have joined the event in the past years include Karylle, Kuya Kim, Yassi Pressman, Dominique Roque, Sam YG, Bubbles Paraiso, Yael Yuzon, Rojun Cruz, Katarina Rodriguez, Clea Pineda, Coach Jim Saret, Sheena Halili, Rica Peralejo, Jodilly Pelendre, Betong Sumaya, Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong, Miss Universe Maxine Medina, 1st runner-up Ms International Nicole Cordovez, Phil and James Younghusband, Crystal Belo, Maxine Magalona, JC Intal, Elmo Magalona, Patricia Tumulak, Bb Pilipinas Ann Colis, Eric Virata, Toni-Toni, Gerard Pizaras, Jan Marini, Diana Zubiri, Zara Carbonell, Will Devaughn, Eruption and Volcanoes’ Chris Everingham.

ABOUT COLOR MANILA:

COLOR MANILA encourages everyone to run, and to illustrate to non-runners how enjoyable the sport is, we bring out the real fun in the ‘fun’ run, through a color festival. We are the paintbrushes, and You are the Paint. We carry the palette but You make your own Strokes. You become the human canvas, as we literally bring out your most energetic and happiest hue.

You are the Color, the human Canvas. You are the bits and pieces of this kaleidoscope. Because life is not a competition. Rather, it is a race where you run at your own pace, where you throw high-fives to people, where you carry all the colors of your experiences. We make this as the most exciting fun run ever, that you’d want to do it over and over again. We want to give you that unique kaleidoscope experience every time!

Embarrassing to admit I haven't join any kind of run ever and this one looks pretty exciting. I do hope I join too and let my colors shine through as I run. (macy)

Hubby and I usually join before, sad to say hindi na ako pwede now because of slip disc sa spine. Its exciting pa naman sana kasi a friend of mine joined last run and I saw his awesome fun photos.

Stopped working out for almost the entire month of December! huhuhaha! So, yes, I'm trying to burn the fats again. I workout at home but haven't really tried running. Perhaps, I should start doing that too!

Tbh, I'm not the type to join this kind of activity but I admire those who do. I think I just don't have the stamina for it. Haha

My husband and I used to jog (or run) before as a form of exercise but I haven't attended a fun run. Hope I can be part of this kind of event in the near future. Thanks for sharing, Claire!

Sad that my only work out at the moment is the climbing up and down our house' stairs. So busy lately I hardly have time to keep in shape. I should make keeping fit a goal this year!!!

Oh I've heard of this event before but never really understood what really happens apart from the running. I've wanted to join these before but these runs usually fall on Sundays when my husband is busiest at work, and usually at wee hours in the morning. Maybe one day.

I've never participated in any fun run before but if I were to join one this would be it. I've seen photos of their previous fun runs and the participants really looked like they enjoyed the experience.

I've only participated 2 fun run in my whole life! Oh well, I preferred to ride a bike... that's why. But if I were to join again, I love to participate in family run event, instead.

Ang tagal ko nang gusto ma-try mag-join sa Color Manila Run and hindi ako matuloy tuloy. Haha! And then last year, when I was about to join another fun run event, nabuntis naman ako. So I had to stop training. Oh well, there's always a next time for almost anything so hopefully next year matuloy naman ang mga plans ko to join fun run events such as these.

I've never really been a great runner (not even a good one at that! LOL!) but I thought I was when I was a kid. I've been seeing these kind of events previously but so far, I haven't found myself wanting to join. Hopefully, one day I will get the urge to try running again. :)

Fun runs are indeed a great way to start living healthy. I wish I can join but my "damaged" eyes won't allow me to. Sigh! -- Maria Teresa Figuerres

Sis, masipag akong tumakbo nung college sa Rizal Memorial Stadium, PICC, CCP, Luneta or Manila Bay kami madalas, hindi pa ganun kapopular ang fun run noon. Pero now that I have 3 kids, ang hirap ng kumuha ng timing pero this year, I will make sure to attend more. Family bonding na din not just for a healthy lifestyle

sana merong mas maiksing takbuhan ano, say 1k lang for those starting to run pa lang or for those na hindi talaga kaya yung mahabang takbo

This is a fun run indeed. Too bad we didn't find out early enough. One of the things our kids did for the first time last year was to join fun runs. Their first was the Crayola fun run. We hope we can join fun runs again this year.
