Continuing the Legacy of Volunteerism : Angat Buhay Achieves PCNC Accreditation

A year since its inception, Angat Buhay remains steadfast in its dedication to community upliftment, bolstering its commitment to good governance with the recent acquisition of the Philippine National Council for NGO Accreditation (PCNC) recognition. This notable achievement, secured merely one year after its formal launch in July 2022, reflects Angat Buhay's unwavering commitment to excellence, transparency, and accountability – qualities recognized not only by the government but also by various donor agencies.

On August 30, Angat Buhay proudly received the PCNC accreditation, surpassing the stringent standards set for NGOs. This milestone prompted a heartfelt expression of gratitude from the Executive Director, Raffy Magno, who acknowledged the challenging process undertaken by Angat Buhay to achieve this accreditation. In a Facebook post, Magno emphasized the accreditation's value as a catalyst for continuous improvement in the NGO's internal systems and processes.

"Mahirap-hirap ang proseso na pinagdaanan ng Angat Buhay para makuha ito. Pero sobrang sulit dahil naging tulay ang accreditation na ‘to para patuloy nating ma-improve ang systems at processes ng ating NGO," Magno shared.

The PCNC accreditation serves as a testament to Angat Buhay's dedication to good governance and effective management. Magno highlighted that the accreditation would help streamline and organize their internal systems and processes, fostering an environment of efficiency and effectiveness.

For volunteers nationwide, the PCNC accreditation opens new opportunities and reinforces Angat Buhay's commitment to community-centric initiatives. The NGO, conceived in the spirit of "bayanihan" following Atty. Leni Robredo's groundbreaking 2022 Presidential Campaign, has consistently championed volunteerism, engaging with marginalized communities and addressing their needs.

The PCNC-accredited NGO continues to advance its advocacies in public education, public health, disaster relief and rehabilitation, as well as community engagement and empowerment. In 2022 alone, Angat Buhay reached almost 200 communities, positively impacting thousands of individuals. The organization is fueled by a renewed enthusiasm to sustain its efforts and welcomes donors who wish to contribute to its mission.

Interested contributors can refer to the provided donation channels or contact donate@angatbuhay.ph for more information. Additionally, Angat Buhay extends its reach beyond national borders, accepting donations through give2asia.org/angatpinas. All contributions are exempt from donor's tax, ensuring that 100% of donations will be allocated to Angat Buhay's projects.

The PCNC accreditation not only provides access to local and international funding but also reinforces Angat Buhay's legitimacy as a recognized NGO. It signals their eligibility to register as a BIR donee institution, facilitating the organization's ability to further its impact on communities.

As a designated Accrediting Entity by the government, PCNC plays a crucial role in ensuring NGOs' compliance with established local requirements and standards for good governance and management.

For those inspired to join the volunteer network, Angat Buhay invites individuals to become volunteers and stay updated on its initiatives through its website at angatbuhay.ph.
