InLife Sheroes illuminated the spotlight on women, spearheaded by Executive Chairperson and prime mover Nina D. Aguas, alongside InLife Dreamweaver, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, in an afternoon of celebration highlighting its achievements over the past five years.
Joining Ms. Cuneta were other esteemed performers, including veteran actress, singer, and comedienne Mitch Valdez, the multitalented Aryn Cristobal, stand-up performer Nicki Morena, with versatile comedienne KaladKaren as the event's host.
Reflecting on its journey, Ms. Aguas recounted that since its inception in 2019 with the initial goal of reaching one million Filipino women, InLife Sheroes, now marking its fifth year, has successfully impacted over 6.5 million Filipino women through various on-ground and online activities.
Ms. Aguas emphasized, "InLife Sheroes will continue to empower Filipino women through financial education and inclusion, utilizing various digital/online and on-the-ground initiatives nationwide, alongside partnerships with like-minded organizations."
Established in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, InLife Sheroes aims to engage the relatively untapped segment of women in the Philippines, particularly women entrepreneurs in need of life and health protection, as well as financial solutions to expand their businesses. Its four key focus areas include financial literacy, health and wellness, women-specific solutions, and access to social and business networks.
To achieve these objectives, InLife has forged strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment, the University of the Philippines – Manila’s Mu Sigma Phi, I Can Serve Foundation, Imaginable Impact, For The Women Foundation, Connected Women, major hospitals in the country, in addition to its bancassurance partner UnionBank of the Philippines, associate Insular Health Care, and social commitment arm Insular Foundation, Inc.
In a recent initiative, InLife introduced Resilience Female Cancers, a critical illness life insurance plan designed to provide coverage for women suffering from nine types of cancers including breast, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancer, among others.
Notably, Ms. Cuneta, herself a Shero, launched a video series on her YouTube channel, with the first episode emphasizing the importance of adopting a healthier lifestyle and preparing for the financial impact of health emergencies.
During the anniversary celebration held at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula on March 12, InLife also unveiled the InLife Sheroes Awards. This Awards Program seeks to honor Filipino women who embody the four pillars of InLife Sheroes: champions of financial education, advocates for physical and mental health and wellness, accomplished women working for the benefit of women, and business leaders whose products and services cater to women’s needs. Nominations, accompanied by a 500-word write-up on the nominee's profile detailing her advocacies and endeavors, can be submitted to inlifesheroes@insular.com.ph from March 12 to August 15, 2024.
