Luxecare at 5: Advancing Inclusive Healthcare for the LGBTQIA+ Community

LoveYourself Inc., a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness about sexual health, has long envisioned a future where queer and PLHIV (People Living with HIV) Filipinos can access affirming, inclusive, and stigma-free healthcare. This vision materialized with the creation of Luxecare, the organization’s first private clinic arm, dedicated to providing premium and inclusive medical services. Last Friday, February 14, 2025, Luxecare celebrated its 5th anniversary—an inspiring milestone in the ongoing fight for equitable queer healthcare in the Philippines.
Luxecare: A Sanctuary for Inclusive Healthcare

The anniversary celebration gathered advocates, healthcare professionals, queer ambassadors, and allies to commemorate Luxecare’s remarkable contributions to the community. Over the past five years, Luxecare has transformed into more than just a healthcare provider—it has become a sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ individuals and PLHIV, offering a safe space where they can receive compassionate, high-quality medical care free from discrimination.

Since its inception, Luxecare has served over 13,000 clients, providing critical support through a wide range of services tailored to the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. The clinic initially focused on HIV and STD testing, but as the demand for specialized healthcare grew, so did its services. Today, Luxecare offers Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT) consultations, ensuring that trans Filipinos receive expert medical guidance in their transition journey. Their holistic approach also includes e-consultations, STI testing and treatment, prophylaxis, and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), all provided in an inclusive and stigma-free environment.

Guided by LoveYourself Inc.'s core principles—the "3 Is": iniingatan (protected), inaalagaan (cared for), and inaasikaso (attended to)—Luxecare continues to uphold its mission of fostering a compassionate and supportive healthcare experience for all.

Beyond sexual health services, Luxecare has expanded into the field of aesthetic treatments, affirming gender identity through medical aesthetics. Their premium offerings include acne scar management, CO2 laser treatments, and optimum pulse laser procedures. As part of their dedication to empowering the transgender community, they also provide free treatments such as acne light therapy, rosacea management, and collagen boost rejuvenation for trans individuals within the community.

The 5th-anniversary event served as an opportunity to express gratitude to patrons, partners, and advocates who have played an integral role in Luxecare’s success. Reflecting on the clinic’s journey, Raymond Mejorada, Luxecare’s Managing Director, shared, “Our vision remains clear—to continue setting new standards in excellence and to empower every individual who walks through our doors.”

Luxecare’s Future: Expansion and Innovation

As a testament to its commitment to accessibility, Luxecare unveiled exciting new developments during the celebration. One of the biggest announcements was the upcoming opening of Luxecare’s sixth branch at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in the coming months. This expansion aims to reach more LGBTQIA+ Filipinos, ensuring they receive trans-supportive and responsive healthcare from knowledgeable experts.

In addition, Luxecare introduced special anniversary promotions, offering discounts on services until the end of the month. These initiatives make quality sexual health and aesthetic treatments more accessible to a broader audience.

Another groundbreaking initiative on the horizon is the launch of the X Virtual Clinic, an online hub specializing in STI testing. Currently in its final development stages, the platform will soon provide a seamless and discreet way for individuals to access vital sexual health services remotely.
