Experience a Jurassic Summer at SM Southmall's South Dino Park

A young child is always excited of something new - new foods to taste, new people to meet, new games to play, places to explore, experiences to learn; and one of the things that the infants and toddlers are most curious of is the dinosaurs. Their curiosity to discover a new dinosaur is always a cause for joy.

Why don't we further fuel up our kid's curiosity this summer with life-size replicas and Paleolithic-inspired activities like fossil painting and educational film showings of the world's pre-historic creatures?

A Jurassic summer awaits kids at SM Southmall's South Dino Park located at the Food Street Concourse starting April 23 until May 26.

The South Dino Park features Dinos in the Mall, an exhibit of 6 larger than life dinosaurs :

Spinosaurus - the only known dino to have dwelled in water. It has six-inch-long teeth and a sail on its back with spines the size of surfboards. Spinosaurus lived about a hundred million years.

Brachiosaurus - an unusual dinosaur that had lived 155.7 million to 150.8 million years ago during the mid- to late Jurassic Period. It has a long neck which made it look like a giraffe, and its forelegs were longer than its hind legs.

Stegosaurus - a large, plant-eating dinosaur that lived during the late Jurassic Period, primarily in western North America. It was about the size of a bus and carried around two rows of bony plates along its back that made it appear even bigger.

Velociraptor - a carnivore dino, formidable on land, weighing around 300 pounds. Known as "swift seizer" it was probably one of the more intelligent dinosaurs because it had a large brain proportionate to its body size.

Tyrannosaurus rex - more commonly known as T-rex, the King of Dinosaurs was one of the largest and most fearsome carnivores of all time. Despite being scary it is the most popular dino among kids and kids-at-heart.

Apart from the dino installation with matching trivia posted beside each, there will also be another dino that would be roaming around the area to interact with the mall goers.

Kids may also enjoy the workshop prepared at the South Dino Camp. Just go to the Event Center and present a minimum single receipt purchase of P1,500 from any establishment at the mall in exchange for a passport. Each passport entitles the kids, 4 to 12 years old; to two classes.

There's also a film-showing which features movies such as The Land Before Time and Jurassic Park. A glamping site is also prepared for the kids where they are free to sit, to lie down or to roll.
