Hotel Sogo : The Past, the Present, and the Future

A Glimpse of History

Hotel Sogo was founded in 1992 by two individuals - one was a hotel professional with over 20 years of experience in a leading motel chain, while the other was a commercial developer and an "AAA" licensed contractor. They both decided to come together to satisfy the public's growing clamor for a better and more convenient low-cost lodging.

In February 1993, the first Hotel Sogo was opened near Monumento LRT Station with the primary commitment of providing guests with topnotch lodging facilities and services which anchor on the following values : Cleanliness, Innovation, Efficiency, Courtesy, Discipline, and Teamwork.

In 1998, Hotel Sogo started their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program. Their first beneficiaries were the victims of floods and typhoons. Since then, the management decided that helping people in need is an important part as the business continues to grow. Hotel Sogo's CSR Program is called "Sogo Cares."

Sogo Cares extends its service to the community through the Doctor on Wheels (DOW) Program that focuses on providing free medical consultations, laboratory, examinations and medications to under-served communities throughout the Philippines.

In 2008, they developed the tagline " So Clean...So Good" indicating a much-improved service for a good and satisfying hotel experience.

Hotel Sogo in the Current Times

This year, Hotel Sogo - the largest hotel chain in the Philippines is celebrating their 25th year in the hotel industry.

During the past 25 years of spectacle's success. Hotel Sogo has built a tradition of excellence in providing comfort, cleanliness, privacy, affordable room rates and security for their customers.

During the celebration, Mr. Elmundo Las, Board of Director encouraged employees to work hard. He stated during his speech that it is not impossible for a room attendant to become a manager as the hotel continues to expand. In the 25 years at Hotel Sogo's existence, the hotel has successfully produced managers and even CEO who come from the ranks.

Hotel Sogo continues to aspire to be the number one hotel chain in the Philippines while maintaining so clean so good service.

What's in Store for Tomorrow

Innovation is a constant at Hotel Sogo. With 40 branches nationwide and plans in the pipeline to open up branches in neighboring Asian countries, Hotel Sogo takes pride in introducing an industry-first centralized 24-hour Guest Assistance SMS Center where guests from any branch can communicate their concerns via text and get immediate action - ensuring a high level of service.

In the near Future, guests will have the luxury of making mobile bookings and room reservations in real time with the soon-to-be-launched and hassle-free Hotel Sogo mobile application for iOS and Android devices.
