Pangasinan’s Inaugural Showcase at Manila FAME Highlights Province’s Exceptional Artisanship

Pangasinan, a province in the Philippines, recently garnered attention for its impressive inaugural display at the Manila FAME event, where 10 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) showcased their export-quality products at the renowned World Trade Center. The assortment of artisans included Herwin Buccat, Blades, Erastus, ILO, WELAB, Alma, Rach, Cawayan, Joy, and B6, presenting an array of opulent fashion pieces, tropical and contemporary home furnishings, as well as chef-approved kitchen knives crafted by celebrated swordsmiths. Each of these offerings pays homage to the province's agricultural abundance and rich cultural heritage.

Governor Ramon V. Guico III, a stalwart supporter of Pangasinan's burgeoning creative industry, played a pivotal role in backing the province's maiden appearance at the prestigious trade show. Alongside local leaders, particularly those from Binalonan and Bolinao, Governor Guico emphasized the vital role of the creative sector in fostering comprehensive development and fostering inclusivity within the province.

The selection process for the participating MSMEs was a result of the dedicated efforts of the Artisan Empowerment Association (AEA), spearheaded by Advisor and Consultant Arlyn Guico and Chief Strategist and Consultant Rosemarie Oamil. AEA's mentorship and guidance proved instrumental in equipping the artisans with the necessary tools and insights to enhance the global competitiveness of their products.

Pangasinan's presence at the Manila FAME event signifies a significant milestone in the province's journey towards establishing a robust and sustainable creative ecosystem. By showcasing the talent and craftsmanship of local artisans on an international platform, the province not only solidifies its position as a hub for innovative and culturally rich creations but also sets a precedent for fostering economic growth and inclusivity within the region. This pioneering step taken by Pangasinan is a testament to the unwavering commitment of its leaders and artisans to promote and preserve the province's distinct cultural identity while embracing the opportunities afforded by the global market.
