Living and Leaving a Legacy : Sun Life explains how Sun Smarter Life can help Filipinos prepare ahead for latter stage of life

Last July 8, 2017, Sun Life held a press conference called "Living and Leaving a Legacy" at the World Trade Center Pasay City Philippines; for their latest campaign featuring one of the most admired Filipinas of today - Charo Santos Concio. During the press conference, Charo opened up about protecting her legacy.


Charo is looked up to for so many reasons. She is noted for her excellent work in the entertainment industry - from her rise as an actress to her post as the head of the country's biggest  multi-media conglomerate.The different roles she has taken on both in front of the camera and behind the scenes have made an impact and inspired many in more ways than one.

Along the way, Charo has shaped a legacy built upon the values she holds dear. "I place a high value on prefessionalism and excellence. But at the same time, I also believe in the importance of having a nurturing heart. More than all the accolades and tangible successes I've had in the industry, it is the legacy of these values that I wish to impart to other people," Charo said.


Just as it is in her career, Charo also cherishes the real treasures in her life : her family. And this is why she strives to protect the properties, investments, heirlooms that she has acquired over the years, so that she may pass it on with ease to her loved ones. by planning ahead, she ensures that the legacy she has built over the years will be enjoyed fully by her family.

Charo is joined by two empowered women from the Sun Life Financial -Philippines, Mylene Daez - Lopa and Jenny Del Mundo who explained further about how Sun Smarter Life can help Filipinos preserve their wealth, their "pamana;" so their family will surely enjoy and maximize it for the future.

Mylene Daez - Lopa graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with an AB degree in Management Economics. She completed her Masters Degree in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management.


Mylene started with Sun Life as Senior. Manage for Business Development where she was heavily involved in key initiatives to develop alternative distribution channels. She was appointed in 2004 as Business Development officer as was tasked to manage the first group of Salaried Sales Force. Afterwards, she was appointed as head of Marketing Services in 2008, then moved up to assume the position of Chief marketing Officer in 2011.

Mylene has been instrumental in sustaining the success of Sun Life's first Multi-media financial literacy campaign called It's Time! which garnered accolades from both international and local award-giving bodies. She was a major contributor to the development of the campaign as well as the rolling this out to the company's key stakeholders resulting in higher awareness about the company and financial planning. She has likewise contributed significantly in developing and promoting the Sun Life brand accross the country.

Today, in her role as CMO, she develops and establishes the marketing strategies, direction, vision and services in support of the company's strategic goals. Within the framework of Corporate policies and programs, she is accountable for the overall functional oversight and governance for the marketing operations in the Philippines including organization, resource planning, institutional and product advertising, creative and digital, integrated events & marketing services, public relation, and market research. She also develops the overarching marketing strategy for SLF Philippines and plays a key role to enhance the Sun Life brand in the local business arena.


Jenny Del Mundo, on the other hand; is the Head of Distribution Support for Sun Life Financial - Philippines and leads four functional teams (Sales Training & Development, Agency Recruitment & Licensing, Sales Support, and Sales Quality management) to deliver excellent support to the channel management group and the agency force. In her role, she oversees the governance of policies and processes, guidelines and practices to ensure strong fundamentals of the distribution channel.

She champions process improvements, performance standards, agency productivity, data analytics, sales quality and market conduct standard in order to build a distribution channel that is productive, profitable and sustainable. She holds a B.S. Psychology - A.B. & Counseling - B.S. Commerce marketing management, obtained from St. Scholastica's College, Manila. She is a Fellow of Life Management Institute with distinction.
