AC Health's Vision of 'Care Beyond Cure' Realized at Healthway Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center

Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (AC Health) has recently introduced the new brand name for Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center, now known as Healthway Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center. This unveiling is part of a broader rebranding effort that includes other hospitals and clinics under the Healthway Medical Network (HMN) brand. The central theme of this rebranding is to deliver "Care Beyond Cure," centered around the concept of "Connected Care Circles," an innovative integrated care model within the network.

The "Care Beyond Cure" promise is a commitment to providing human-centric care that goes beyond just addressing a patient's medical wellness but also encompasses their overall well-being. Meanwhile, the "Connected Care Circles" initiative ensures high-quality and coordinated care throughout a patient's healthcare journey. The integration focuses on healthcare providers working together to deliver holistic care, covering primary, multi-specialty, and specialized care. The network of outpatient clinics and hospitals is designed to respond efficiently to the diverse needs of patients across the entire health continuum.

Jaime Ysmael, CEO of Healthway Medical Network, expressed the aspiration to leverage the rich history and experience of Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center in implementing the "Connected Care Circle" program. Through this approach, healthcare delivery is structured to provide integrated care across the entire HMN network, supported by a network of doctors, nursing, and allied staff with specialized training. The unified health information system allows patients to access the care they need seamlessly at different clinics and hospitals within the network.

As part of the Healthway Medical Network, Healthway QualiMed DMMC serves as the legacy hospital with a history spanning 66 years of service in the communities of Tanauan and nearby cities and municipalities. Founded by Dr. Daniel O. Mercado in 1957, the hospital has grown from a 12-bed lying-in facility to over 120 inpatient beds, continually expanding its range of services and training programs. Its integration into the HMN extends its patient reach nationwide and provides a strong foundation for cohesive integration.

Patients will also benefit from the AC Health ecosystem, which encompasses various healthcare touchpoints such as pharma and digital health, including Generika Drugstore, IE Medica, MedEthix, and KonsultaMD in partnership with Globe’s 917 Ventures.

According to Paolo Borromeo, President, and CEO of AC Health, the network aims to touch the lives of one in every five Filipinos by 2030. As the AC Health ecosystem expands, the organization seeks to harness the collective strength of all its assets to create synergies that offer a differentiated experience for Healthway doctors, employees, and, most importantly, patients.

Healthway Medical Network, being AC Health's primary avenue for delivering outpatient and inpatient healthcare services, aligns with the Ayala Group's core belief that reliable and quality healthcare is a fundamental right for all Filipinos. AC Health's continued investment in the healthcare space aims to ensure inclusivity in the availability of healthcare services across the country.

Looking ahead, Healthway Medical Network plans to open three more multi-specialty centers in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao, expanding its reach to 15 outpatient centers by the end of 2023.

In summary, Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. has introduced Healthway Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center as part of its rebranding efforts to unify all hospitals and clinics under the Healthway Medical Network brand. The focus is on providing "Care Beyond Cure" through a connected care model, emphasizing holistic patient care and strengthening the network's capabilities in delivering outpatient and inpatient healthcare services nationwide. The integration of various healthcare touchpoints under the AC Health ecosystem further reinforces the commitment to improving healthcare accessibility for all Filipinos.
