Acer Launches SpatialLabs Eyes Camera for Stunning Stereoscopic 3D Moments

Acer has expanded its range of SpatialLabs 3D devices with the launch of the SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera, a compact 3D camera designed for photographers and content creators. This new addition seamlessly integrates with SpatialLabs products, streaming services, and video calling platforms, offering users a comprehensive tool for capturing and sharing stunning stereoscopic images and videos.

“The SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera completes Acer’s stereoscopic 3D portfolio, providing solutions from content capturing and creation, to display and interaction,” said Jerry Kao, COO, Acer Inc. “We hope to empower users to capture the world around them in stunning stereoscopic 3D through the new camera and we’re excited to see the possibilities and the amazing content they will be able to create and share.”

Modern Design and Intuitive Use

The SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera is designed for ease of use and portability. With 8 megapixels per eye resolution, a built-in selfie mirror, and a weatherproof exterior, this pocket-sized device is ideal for capturing moments on the go. Its intuitive setup includes carefully calibrated lens alignment and an advanced optical system, enabling photographers to capture subjects with greater 3D depth and detail.

The camera is equipped with auto and touch focus capabilities, enhanced by Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for smooth and steady footage. For more experienced photographers, the manual mode offers control over ISO, white balance, and shutter speed settings, allowing for customized image output.

The device's sleek design features a shale black gloss finish, with aluminum-lined lens cap and selfie mirror enclosures. This sophisticated aesthetic has earned the camera prestigious accolades, including the 2024 Red Dot and iF Design Awards.

Beyond Snapshots: Real-Time 3D Streaming and Video Calls

The SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera does more than capture images and videos in 3D; it also facilitates real-time 3D streaming and video calling. With the Acer SpatialLabs Player 3.0, users can stream 3D content live on YouTube and other platforms. Starting in Q3, the SpatialLabs video call widget will enable high-resolution 3D video conferencing on apps such as Teams (1080p), Zoom (720p), and Google Meet (1080p), with customizable depth features to enhance realism during calls.

Whether users are reviewing content on Acer SpatialLabs laptops, displays, VR/AR headsets, or 3D projectors, the SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera ensures the richness and impact of their 3D content. A downloadable gallery feature allows users to revisit their 3D portfolio and relive their immersive 3D experiences.
New Developer Tools for Enhanced 3D Content Creation

In conjunction with the new camera, Acer has announced an expanded array of developer tools to support 3D content creation. The SpatialLabs Unreal 5.3 and Unity 2021.3 LTS and 2022.3 LTS plug-ins will be available to 3D creators starting in June.

Additionally, Acer is launching the SpatialLabs Model Viewer Pro application, designed to enhance the 3D content workflow and user experience. This application supports major 3D file formats and includes features such as a virtual turntable, custom overlays, and HDRI backgrounds, making it an ideal solution for 3D installations in showrooms and professional presentations.
